The product

The brothers’ first product from Frii Design was “Trilens”. It is a belt mounted rotating lens holder designed for photographers who often need to switch lenses, to securely carry up to 3 camera lenses with no bags.

At the time of creation of Frii-design, Trilens was their only product. It was launched in May 2017 on Kickstarter, a platform of crowdfunding, and was funded by 1,218 people. They even reached their 100% target funding in only 24 hours.

At first they could not ship to the US so they later on made a second crowdfunding in order to have the funds to ship worldwide.

It is a very good idea because it’s a big loss of time for photographers to reach into their bag to change lenses, they can often miss important pictures especially when shooting a wedding or sport events. So it becomes useless to have many good lenses if you are not able to use them. Trilens helps photographers to save a lot of time in the process of switching lenses.

You can fit any lenses such as teles lenses or prime lenses. No matter how many lenses you have on the product, the center of gravity will automatically adjust to be as low as possible. If you have a huge lens and a very small one, the big one will be pointing towards the ground. The “auto-friction mechanism” will keep the product stable when running or doing any kind of movements as it will be adjusting the force needed to rotate the product. It’s designed to be able to carry up to 100 kg (220 lbs), which will never happen when you carry lenses.

You can attach the TriLens to any belt you like, but with time, the team realized that after long uses, your belt might start to break, so they developed their own belt that will support the Trilens.

The product is fully made in Sweden (design and production).
