The history of the company

Frii Designs is a start-up founded from the vision of making life easier for photographers. The founders are two brothers from Stockholm, Sweden. The first one is called Jonas Lundin, he is a photographer and mechanical engineer specialized in industrial design from Lund university. His brother is called Hampus Lundin and he is a biomedical engineer from Linköping University with a passion for production and automation.

While growing up, they spent most of their time in the family garage building bikes, 3D projects, and stuff like that so over the years they learned the process of designing products and developed their team-spirit.

As Jonas Lundin was working as a photographer at the same time that he was learning design, he realized that a lot of improvements could be done in the workflow of photographers.

Changing lenses is probably one of the most stressful things possible for a photographer, because you carry lenses that are worth thousands of euros and you can drop them by mistake or dust, water and sand can go in it… There are a lot of reasons that something can go wrong.

Jonas made a first prototype and then presented it to his brother who then decided to join the project. As his brother is an engineer, it was the perfect team to try to improve photographer’s life.
